Electrification is the future. We make sure our clients are ready for tomorrow, today

Introduction to Mark Bambacht, Managing Director of Electrical & Instrumentation at House of Contracting

The energy transition is driving explosive growth in the demand for electrical infrastructure. From grid reinforcement and energy storage to hydrogen projects and sustainable industrial developments, electricity forms the foundation of almost every new initiative. At House of Contracting, Mark Bambacht plays a key role in this transformation as Managing Director of Electrical & Instrumentation.

With more than 27 years of experience in both engineering and contracting, Mark understands both worlds like few others. After spending fifteen years in project execution, he transitioned to an engineering consultancy, where he worked for twelve years and progressed from Department Manager to Operations Director. At House of Contracting, he is responsible for the Electrical & Instrumentation discipline, where he combines the expertise and practical experience gained throughout his career.

The ongoing energy transition has made the Electrical & Instrumentation discipline more important than ever. "From the perspective of our discipline, I can confidently say that wherever a cable is needed, we can add value."

“The demand for electrification continues to grow”

Within the Electrical & Instrumentation discipline, House of Contracting operates across virtually every market segment where electricity plays a critical role. The company supports both existing industrial facilities and new developments related to the energy transition.

Its clients span a wide range of sectors, including grid operators, renewable energy, energy storage, hydrogen projects, and innovative start-ups developing next-generation energy solutions. Pilot projects and the development of new energy infrastructure are also key areas of expertise.

"Electrification is a major topic across almost every industry. We support our clients with all types of projects where reliable electrical infrastructure and high-quality E&I solutions are essential. This enables us to respond quickly to the developments and demands of the market."

Clients benefit from maximum peace of mind thanks to our own skilled professionals

The increasing pace of electrification has made the Electrical & Instrumentation discipline not only more relevant but also indispensable within multidisciplinary projects.

At House of Contracting, the E&I team works closely with the Structural Steel and Piping & Mechanical disciplines. This integrated collaboration enables clients to benefit from a seamless project approach in which different areas of expertise work together efficiently.

Another key differentiator is that approximately 80% of all E&I activities are carried out by House of Contracting's own skilled professionals, keeping reliance on third parties to an absolute minimum. This results in short communication lines, consistently high execution quality, and the efficient delivery of complex industrial projects. At the same time, it allows tighter control over quality, planning, and safety.

"Because we have so many disciplines under one roof, we can offer our clients not only specialist E&I solutions but also deliver complete multidisciplinary projects."

Building the future within a young and ambitious organisation

For Mark, joining House of Contracting was a deliberate decision. After many years in engineering, he wanted to be closer to project execution again.

"The best part is being able to say, in the end, 'We built this together.' That practical aspect gives me a tremendous amount of energy."

He is also particularly attracted to the company's culture. House of Contracting is characterised by a no-nonsense mentality, short communication lines, and plenty of room for entrepreneurship.

"House of Contracting is a young organisation where you truly have the opportunity to help shape the future of project execution, as well as the companies within the group. You're given the freedom to help steer the organisation and define our shared vision for the future."

“Clients benefit from craftsmanship and multidisciplinary strength”

According to Mark, House of Contracting's strength lies in the combination of specialist expertise, its own highly skilled workforce, and the close collaboration between the different contracting companies within the group.

House of Contracting prefers to become involved at an early stage of a project, allowing the team to contribute to the planning and execution strategy. Whether a client requires support in just one discipline or is looking for a fully multidisciplinary solution, the company can provide the right expertise. If needed, the Electrical & Instrumentation team works seamlessly with colleagues from Structural Steel and Piping & Mechanical to develop the most effective project approach.

"Our people are selected for their craftsmanship. They focus on what they do best and are supported by experienced specialists who understand exactly what is required in practice."

With the demand for electrification continuing to rise, Mark looks confidently towards the future."The energy transition requires reliable partners who can adapt to a rapidly changing market. Thanks to our expertise, our own people, and our multidisciplinary approach, we are ready to fulfil that role."
