Queen Máxima opens UPPACT recycling plant in Farmsum
On Wednesday 1 April, Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands officially opened the UPPACT recycling plant in Farmsum. This opening marks an important step in the further development of circular and sustainable industrial solutions in the Netherlands.
The UPPACT DEMO plant focuses on processing mixed plastic and textile waste, streams that are traditionally difficult to recycle. Using advanced mixer-melter technology, this waste is converted into high-quality and durable building materials such as posts, boards, and beams. This enables a fully mechanical recycling process that contributes to reducing the incineration of residual waste streams.
The installation, located at the Chemport Innovation Center, serves as a demonstration and validation site for circular production at industrial scale. With a processing capacity of 4,000 tons, the plant offers a concrete and scalable alternative for waste streams that would otherwise be incinerated.
PMF is proud to have contributed to the realization of the demo installation for this forward-looking facility. The project underscores the power of collaboration and innovation within the sector.
Within the House of Contracting group, PMF Industry Group provides integrated expertise and support for complex industrial projects, with quality, collaboration, and reliability at the core.
This project once again demonstrates what is possible when specialized companies join forces to deliver sustainable and scalable solutions.
