Circtec tire recycling plant Farmsum | PMF Industry Group
A milestone for the circular industry in the Netherlands. On January 27, Circtec officially opens its groundbreaking tire recycling facility in Farmsum, in the presence of King Willem-Alexander.
A recent milestone was the official opening of Circtec’s tire recycling plant in Farmsum on January 27, attended by King Willem-Alexander. PMF Industry Group acted as house contractor and main contractor, with an integrated scope covering piping & mechanical, electrical & instrumentation, and structural steel. This project makes a meaningful contribution to the circular economy.
With a highly optimized execution schedule—featuring peak on-site activities for PMF of up to 138 FTE—and a delivery window running from site mobilization in April to mechanical completion at the end of 2025, we are extremely proud to have contributed to this innovative project. Our teams demonstrated exceptional flexibility, dedication, and delivery capacity across piping, mechanical works, electrical & instrumentation, and pipe racks, even during the most demanding phases of the project. This achievement reflects not only technical excellence, but also strong collaboration and a shared determination to make it happen.
Once fully operational, the facility will be capable of processing up to 180,000 tons of end-of-life tires per year, converting waste into valuable raw materials for:
- new tires
- new plastics
- future low-carbon fuels for international shipping
At full capacity, the project is expected to deliver a CO₂ reduction equivalent to approximately ~5% of the total emissions of the Dutch chemical sector, making a tangible contribution to a circular economy.
Congratulations to Circtec on this remarkable step forward. We are proud to be part of it.
We thank everyone involved for their trust, dedication, and shared ambition that made this vision a reality.
